Privacy Policy

Sidelines has no place to upload a photo or a video of a child. Not a hidden one, not a planned one — there is no column for it anywhere in the database.

There is no public page for a child. A player's name is visible to the coaches of their own team and to the families on that team, and nowhere else.

We do not sell anything, run ads, or share data with advertisers. Sidelines is free for coaches and families.

• About an adult: name, email address, and — only if you give it to us — a mobile number. That is your account.
• About a child: first name, last name, an optional jersey number, an optional date of birth, and optional notes a coach types (an allergy, a carpool arrangement). Date of birth is there because leagues place children in divisions by age.
• About a team: practices, games, locations, RSVPs, who is bringing snacks, concession-stand shifts, scores where the league keeps them, and the character stars a coach awards.
• If you write to a league through its page: your name, your email address and your message, kept until the league has replied. Nothing else — not your location, not your device.

We do not collect a child's address, school, medical records, photograph, or anything a coach does not type in themselves.

Schedules, rosters and RSVPs are visible to the people on that team. League officials see their own league's teams. Nobody else can reach any of it, including us, except to keep the service running.

Two things are deliberately public, because they replace a phone tree: a league's own page (seasons, divisions, standings — never a child's name) and a single-game link a parent can text to a grandparent. That link shows the game: the team, the time, the field. It does not show a roster.

Outside a child's own team, a player is shown as a first name and a last initial — “Theo M.” — including to screen readers.

We never text you unless you added a mobile number and ticked Text me schedule changes. You can change that any time under Me, or reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop immediately. Reply START to turn it back on, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.

Team email goes to the address you signed up with. Browser notifications only work after you allow them, and you can revoke that in your browser at any time.

Team data stays while the team is active so families can look back at a season. We intend to purge per-child game records — stars, stats and playing-time segments — 24 months after a season ends, and we will state the exact schedule here once it is running.

A coach can delete a player from a roster at any time, which removes that child's records with them.

Email hello@toytrove.app from the address on your account and tell us what you want: a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account and your children's records. We will confirm and act within 30 days.

If you are a parent and a coach entered your child without your knowing, say so. We will remove the child's records without needing anything from the coach.

Sidelines is built for parent-run youth leagues. It runs on Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email) and, when a league turns it on, Twilio (text messages). Those services process data on our behalf and are not allowed to use it for anything else.
